DALLAS (October 24, 2019) – Brinks Home Security hosted their fourth annual 5K benefiting Mission 500 on Saturday, October 19 in Farmers Branch, TX. A long-time member of the Electronic Security Association (ESA), the national security company raised $43,000 for Farmers Branch Elementary and Habitat of Humanity of Dallas. Prior to race day, Brinks employees assembled 600 refill packs for local elementary students and constructed home walls for Habitat for Humanity.

“Brinks employees stopped by on their breaks during the workday to assemble backpacks and write encouraging notes to the children,” said Jeff Eichenlaub, Director of Strategic Planning at Mission 500. “We are especially proud that we just finished an initiative from last year’s race. We opened a life skill coaching program in Houston, Texas. Mission 500 works throughout the year and across the nation all from the generosity of sponsors and with Brinks Home Security’s leadership.”

Brinks Home Security’s decision to partner with charitable organizations shows its commitment to uphold the requirements outlined by ESA’s strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct. ESA is comprised of electronic security companies that specialize in a wide spectrum of services to commercial and residential consumers. These member companies represent more than 70% of the market for intrusion and fire/life safety systems, access control, video surveillance and monitoring. Membership is granted to companies that provide outstanding security services.

The ESA guidelines ensure that member organizations maintain the highest quality of service. The fundraising and volunteering that Brinks conducts with their annual 5K represent the level of commitment to customers and communities that the ESA encourages its members to engage in. Fred Graffam, Brinks Home Security’s Chief Financial Officer, participated in this year’s race and described the impact of the event.

“The annual 5K is an extension of what we do every day as a company: supporting our community,” Graffam said. “The race reminds our employees of a mission beyond just coming to work and doing our jobs. There’s also a responsibility for all of us to be an active part of our community and to help those in need.”

At the event, participants joined from across the nation to race near Brinks Home Security Headquarters. First, second and third overall male/female winners were awarded $1,000, $750 and $500 respectively.
