Department of Labor Leader on Apprenticeship Forum Panel
The administrator for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship Employment and Training Administration (ETA), John Ladd, will participate in the NBFAA Apprenticeship Forum to be held at ESX on June 23 from 8:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. in the Baltimore Convention Center.
Ladd became Administrator of the Office of Apprenticeship in January 2008. As the administrator, he has responsibility for oversight of the National Registered Apprenticeship System which operates in cooperation with State agencies, businesses, industry, employers, employer associations, labor and management organizations and educational institutions. It is the nationally recognized credentialing system for skilled and technical occupational training programs with almost 500,000 active apprentices in the U.S.
The NBFAA Apprenticeship Forum is a medium for chapter state associations to identify and discuss related issues on apprenticeship and implementation at the chapter level.
Come learn what the NBFAA federally-approved merit shop program is, its origins, composition and benefits at the regional level. Apprenticeship committee members will also share their experiences of the filing process and program initiation.
This session will benefit the chapter associations, members and other interested parties in the mechanics of starting and maintaining this nationwide accredited industry apprenticeship program in their state.
