Virginia Chapter Receives Warm Welcome from NBFAA
NBFAA Board Unanimously Votes to Welcome VBFAA Back to the Association

Irving, Texas, Jan. 29, 2008 – The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) Board of Directors unanimously welcomed the Virginia Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (VBFAA) back as a chartered chapter during NBFAA’s recent Leadership Summit. The VBFAA Board of Directors voted at the end of 2007 to rejoin the chapter alliance, and NBFAA made it official at the board meeting.

“The Virginia board of directors had been considering the move for sometime. After reviewing the benefits that the membership and chapter receive from affiliation with NBFAA at our annual meeting in 2007, it was a unanimous decision by members present,” explained VBFAA President John D. Kochensparger, president, Certified Training Academy, Ashland, Virginia.

“It is great the way the NBFAA board and chapters are welcoming Virginia back with such vigor. We are privileged to, once again, work alongside NBFAA and its chapters. We believe that this partnership lends great value to our members. With this move, our members will enhance their national networking, support and representation. And, equally important, we add Virginia’s support to strengthen the ‘collective voice’ of the industry as a whole,” added Kochensparger.

VBFAA Past President Emil Wengel and VBFAA vice president, Beth Cain were both in attendance at the Leadership Summit where they received a warm and sincere “welcome back” from the entire board.

“The addition of VBFAA is another step toward strengthening our alliance of chartered chapters. It takes a collective might to represent and support our industry, in both Washington and in the public arena,” said NBFAA President George Gunning “and we welcome the vision, knowledge and fresh perspectives that the VBFAA leadership and members have to offer.”
