NBFAA Charter Chapter to Contribute toward Turnout
and Success of Electronic Security Expo (ESX)
Tennessee Burglar & Fire Alarm Association
Elects
to Merge Annual Convention with ESX
August 17, 2007 – The Tennessee Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (TBFAA) announced today plans to merge its annual convention into the Electronic Security Expo (ESX), a new conference and exposition owned, directed and sponsored by Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) and the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA). Designed to be the premier training event for security integration and monitoring companies, ESX will take place in Nashville, Tenn. in 2008, with the conference program scheduled to run June 25-27 and the exhibits June 26-27.
According to TBFAA, the state association’s annual convention draws 300 to 400 owner/operators and top management decision makers from Tennessee’s installing and monitoring companies for three days of education and networking. TBFAA has hosted board and committee meetings, training and other important programming in conjunction with their trade show event. Dozens of manufacturers, distributors and service providers have also participated in the past as exhibitors and sponsors.
“The TBFAA is excited about the arrival of ESX in our capital city and will do everything in its power to ensure strong participation from our members and other qualified integration and monitoring companies across the state,” said Scott Slough, president of the TBFAA and Knoxville-based Slough & Associates. “At ESX, we’ll host our traditional annual membership meeting and participate in the training and social and networking functions to enhance the success of ESX.”
“TBFAA’s decision to hold its annual convention at ESX shows how powerfully the industry is rallying around the concept of an industry-owned national event with a strong focus on training and integrated systems,” said George Gunning, president of the NBFAA and CEO of Monrovia, Calif.- based USA Alarm Systems. “Combined with CSAA’s decision to merge its Mid-Year Meeting into ESX, this move also shows how the associations are working to consolidate activities into a unified, cost-effective marketing platform at ESX.”
Gunning also announced plans to host NBFAA’s 60th anniversary party at ESX. “A name country music act, multi-media presentation on the industry’s accomplishments and our leaders and other fun, interesting and inspirational activities will be part of the event, so mark Nashville on your calendar as the place to be in June next year,” added Gunning.
