George De Marco Honored by NBFAA President
Three Other NBFAA Leaders Receive Special Thanks and Recognition

Irving, Texas, April 10, 2007 – George De Marco of California was presented the NBFAA President’s Award by NBFAA President George Gunning for his dedication to the association.

“George has provided me with tremendous support in my role as president and his work behind the scenes in many areas has greatly increased the professionalism of the industry,” Gunning said.

De Marco is the current NBFAA Nominating Committee chairman. He was heavily involved in the development of California’s apprenticeship program and then later in the development of a similar program for NBFAA. He served on the Chartered State Association Ad Hoc Committee that was responsible for reviewing the chapter program and making recommendations of improvement to the NBFAA Board of Directors. De Marco has worked hard to help garner support and sponsorships for NBFAA events like the annual conferences in Las Vegas and New York City.

”This award is a testament that his efforts are greatly appreciated,” Gunning said.

The NBFAA also recently presented leadership awards to Counte Cooley, Electronic Sales Company; Mike Miller, Moon Security Services Inc; and David Koenig, Capitol Fire & Security Inc, for their service and dedication to the association during their terms on the NBFAA Executive Committee.

Cooley is finishing his second two-year term as vice president on the Executive Committee. He has also served as a member on the NBFAA Strategic Planning Committee and is a past president of the Georgia Burglar & Fire Alarm Association.

Koenig’s two-year term as vice president on the Executive Committee has also come to an end. In addition to his service on the Executive Committee, Koenig served as an NBFAA board member from Wisconsin (1991-1993 and 2002-2005) and was recognized by the NBFAA in 1993 as Professional Alarm Technician of the Year.

Miller is wrapping up his term as treasurer on the Executive Committee, a position he has held for seven years. He also serves as chairman of the Investment committee and is the past chair of both the NBFAA Public Relations Committee and the False Alarm Committee. Miller served the Washington Burglar & Fire Alarm Association as president for four years and then as past president for another four. He was the 2005 recipient of the NBFAA’s Sara E. Jackson Award.
