NBFAA and NTS Announce the Availability of New Courses
The National Training School Signs Bedrock Learning as New Training Partner

Irving, Texas, June 28, 2006 – The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) and the National Training School (NTS) announce the availability of new courses through an agreement with Bedrock Learning.

Bedrock provides a comprehensive training solution for home technology installers, sales, customer support, and other residential technology professionals. The company has more than 25 years of training and curriculum development experience and offers training on the fundamentals of installation.

NBFAA Education Committee Chairman, Paul Baran said the Bedrock partnership increases the training options for security professionals. “Providing these courses will expand our offerings and give members valuable training on the related systems that they are integrating with, or incorporating into, their current installations,” he said.

Helen Heneveld, president of Bedrock, said, “A great opportunity exists for security companies to expand their businesses by installing other systems in the home, such as audio and video distribution, along with home theater and home networking. We look forward to providing the training they need to be successful as they diversify, and we are excited to be working with NTS — the professional development and training leader for the electronic security industry.”

As a result of the partnership, the new online course offerings will include:

  • Introduction to Residential Technologies
  • Fundamentals of Structured Wiring
  • Whole House Audio Technology and Distribution
  • Home Theater Design and Installation
  • Residential Telephone and Communications
  • Residential Lighting Control
  • Home Networking for Installers

NBFAA members will receive a 15 percent discount off the regular online courses and course materials, which are accredited for NBFAA/NTS continuing education units (CEUs).
