NBFAA Also Announces Growth of Insurance Program
Irving, Texas, April 3, 2006 – The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association’s (NBFAA) insurance program, Security America Risk Retention Group, presented top honors at the annual NBFAA Awards Luncheon in Las Vegas, Monday, April 3, 2006. NBFAA also announced current growth and retention figures for the insurance program which was created in 2003 specifically to meet the needs of electronic life safety, security and systems professionals.
The New York Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NYBFAA), a Chartered State Association (CSA) of the NBFAA, was presented with the inaugural Security America Award of Excellence in recognition of outstanding participation and commitment. Tim Creenan, president of the New York chapter accepted the award.
“Our chapters have recognized the value that this program brings to members and are doing a great job promoting it,” said Security America President Cecil Hogan. “ The NYBFAA worked hard this year; they sent in the most referrals and ended the year with the most new policyholders.”
Hogan said when Security America started three years ago, they had done their homework and felt confident about the program, but were unsure of how long it would take to get things going.
“I’m very pleased and happy to report that the program has attained a growth rate of 86 percent in the last 18 months and currently has a retention rate of 93 percent.” Hogan also said approximately 200 companies have joined NBFAA and affiliated associations to gain access to the insurance program.
In 2004, NBFAA partnered with Beecher Carlson, a 27-year veteran of risk management consulting services, to handle the underwriting and marketing functions of the program. Beecher Carlson works cooperatively with local brokers allowing members to maintain established relationships with their current agent and obtain coverage through Security America.
