FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NBFAA Fall Conference Focuses on Value for Members

Fall Conference Spreads the News about the Security Industry

Irving, TX Aug. 11, 2005 - The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) wants to “start spreading the news” about the 2005 Fall Conference and Charter State Associations (CSA) Symposium, which will be held Aug. 22-25 in New York City.

Held in conjunction with International Security Conference (ISC) East, the event is host to an array of information for industry-related training, seminars, discussions, and networking opportunities.

NBFAA Executive Director Merlin Guilbeau hopes to spread the information to as many attendees as possible. We are always excited about these conferences because the forums help provide us with an opportunity to stay connected with our own leaders and members, and offer other professionals in the industry a link to our organization as well,” he said.

Speakers of the conference include Senior Manager of Industry and Public Relations for Brink’s Home Security Dave Simon, Security America Risk Retention Group (SARRG) representative Richard Poling and ADI’s vice president of National Accounts, Mark Ingram.

At 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, Simon will present a half-hour media training seminar titled, "Why Me" that is designed to provide NBFAA members with valuable insight into the world of media relations.

Ingram, this year’s guest speaker for the NBFAA breakfast, will speak on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 7:30 a.m.  “I plan to focus on two areas:  commitment and strength in numbers. ADI shares the philosophy that supporting associations like NBFAA can increase a company’s competitive edge and improve business,” said Ingram.

Poling will provide an insurance seminar Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on ways to reduce the risk of uninsured lawsuits, legal expenses, and penalties through the purchase of affordable general liability and professional errors and omissions insurance.

The CSA Symposium also welcomes presenter Cynthia D’Amour, a leadership coach and growth strategist, who will discuss ways to motivate members of an association to get involved, build leadership teams, and how to use strategies to match the demands of today's new volunteers.

This is the second CSA symposium event, which made its debut at ISC West in Las Vegas last April.Further information about this year’s Fall conference is available online at www.alarm.org.

NBFAA also continues to spread the news about the recent relocation from Silver Spring, Md. to Irving, Texas. NBFAA’s new headquarters is located at 2300 Valley View Lane, Suite 230, Irving, TX 75062 and may be reached by calling toll free 888-447-1689.

In addition to information being available at the NBFAA booth during ISC East, media representatives should contact NBFAA Communications in advance to schedule interviews with Guilbeau and other members of the NBFAA Executive Committee.
