NBFAA Partners With RiskCap to Underwrite and Market
Association's GL/E&O Insurance Program
Members can now work with existing brokers and save money through SARRG

Silver Spring, Md. - Since its inception a year ago, the Security America Risk Retention Group (SARRG) insurance program created by the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association's (NBFAA) has experienced phenomenal success and growth. In a move to further expand the client base, NBFAA has partnered with RiskCap, a 27-year veteran of risk management consulting services to handle the underwriting and marketing functions of the program.

One of the more appealing aspects of the new partnership is that RiskCap works cooperatively with local brokers allowing members to maintain established relationships with their current broker and obtain coverage under SARRG.

"Many of our members were torn between the desire to save significantly on their insurance premiums and the reluctance to leave a broker they had been working with for years" explained NBFAA Executive Director Merlin Guilbeau. "Now they don't have to choose."

NBFAA introduced SARRG, a revolutionary and affordable general liability/errors and omissions (E&O) insurance program designed and developed specifically for its members in late 2003, after two years of planning and research. Recently, after being introduced to RiskCap's vast experience and capabilities, NBFAA chose to take advantage of working with one of the largest independent captive management firms in the United States.

Providing the unique SARRG program as part of NBFAA's member benefits package demonstrates the association's dedication to providing quality, affordable business solutions to its members.

Because of the possible financial savings, many NBFAA members have opted out of their previous plans and made SARRG their insurer of choice. Since signing on with SARRG, George Gunning, NBFAA vice president and president of USA Alarm Systems, Inc. in Monrovia, Calif., has seen a substantial decrease in his annual premium.

"I would tell any NBFAA member to make sure they get a quote. If I hadn't, I'd be paying $6,000 more each year," Gunning said.

News of the insurance plan has traveled quickly around the industry. The NBFAA has seen a rise in membership, due in part to security companies wanting to take advantage of the low rates of the SARRG program.

"We invested in SARRG to benefit our members," added Guilbeau. "The number of companies joining NBFAA to take advantage of the low insurance rates tells me that we are doing our job of providing valuable membership advantages through programs like SARRG."
