Brivo Systems, LLC recently announced that Arlington Park Racetrack, located in suburban Chicago, utilizes Brivo ACS WebService to secure all nonpublic areas within the grandstand and the highly restricted stables area.
Internationally acclaimed as one of racing’s most beautiful settings, Arlington Park boasts hundreds of thousands of visitors to its clubhouse and grounds during racing season. Park management chose Brivo Access Control Systems (ACS) to manage access to secured areas of the grandstand and the backstretch, a highly secure and regulated area, where more than 2,100 horses are stabled. The grandstand’s 18 door access readers are connected directly to the Park’s network, while the two backstretch gates are connected and controlled wirelessly. All access can be managed with any standard Web browser from any computer, located anywhere with Internet access.
Arlington Park Director of Public Safety and Security ChrisMartin and his staff take advantage of Brivo’s ease of creating and managing multiple groups having different access privileges, both of which change throughout the year. One other Brivo feature Martin has used to great advantage is email and cell phone notification.
“During racing season, we have a lot of staff here and it’s often a changing population. On any given day, if I need to omit access or see a certain individual, I establish a notification and when that person arrives I know where and when to get a hold of him—that’s a great feature,” Martin said.
On August 1, 2008, Napco will introduce its full data wireless alarm communicator with telephone line connection and monitoring. Their new StarLink Full Data (SL-1FD-T) features superior performance and easier installation for primary or backup alarm reporting, saving time and money on installation costs. Universally compatible, StarLink Full Data supports all alarm panel brands using Contact ID and 4/2 formats.
Their wireless backup reporting radio uses the GPRS data channel of GSM Networks for affordable, dependable, high-speed alarm communications. Their device requires no additional central station equipment and is supported by an extensive nationwide network (SIM card included). Each unit connects to and monitors your phone line. When StarLink Full Data is used as a backup system, it transmits alarm events wirelessly when telco fails, eliminating duplicate reporting confusion and reporting fees.
StarLink Full Data may be used as a primary alarm communicator. Activation, programming and signal verification is accessible 24-hours a day via telephone or online at www.napcosecurity.com or www.napcostarlink.net. Each unit continually monitor’s itself for optimal performance and reliability and transmits alarm reports to any central station supporting standard formats, i.e., contact ID or 4/2. An ultra-compact, rugged aluminum enclosure accepts standard 1/2” EMT for wiring protection and standard 3/8” recessed magnetic contact for tamper-proof protection. A durable antenna provides RFI protection while EMI-/RFI-shielded electronics ensures dependability. For peace of mind that signal-strength is working maximally during power up, each unit includes an LED indicator on a scale of 1 to 5. What’s more, low standby current (<20mA) allows StarLink Full Data to be powered from an existing alarm control panel/battery.
Bosch Security Systems, Inc., a full-line manufacturer of security solutions, is introducing an addition to its Divar family of Digital Versatile Recorders (DVRs).
The new Divar XF digital recorder provides real-time viewing, recording and playback in full 4CIF resolution, as well as synchronous audio support on every channel. A leader in video storage technology, Bosch has incorporated state-of-the-art H.264 compression technology into the Divar XF’s advanced design. This technology allows Divar XF to deliver outstanding, high resolution images while reducing storage costs by as much as 30 percent compared with systems that use traditional MPEG-4 encoding.
The Divar XF also features four hard disk drives accessible from the front of the unit for easy servicing. Front accessibility means drives can be easily added or replaced with larger capacity drives, providing the flexibility for additional storage when needed. Video can be archived to USB flash drives, and with image authentication, it can be used as evidence in legal proceedings.
The system includes Divar XF Control Center software for complete remote management, including live viewing, playback, configuration, remote alarm notification and easy exporting of recorded video. With the Divar XF Control Center, all operations can be centralized to create a scalable video management solution.
Using the Bosch Video Management System, customers can integrate the Divar XF into any Bosch IP network surveillance system to provide comprehensive, centralized control over an entire CCTV network, including cameras and storage devices. Using Bosch’s new VideoSDK (Software Development Kit) enables integration with third-party security management systems or specialized software tools, such as fraud detection programs for retail applications.
The Divar XF is ideal for medium to large or growing systems with high security requirements, such as shopping centers, banks and financial institutions, industrial facilities and airports. It is available in eight and 16 channel models.
