Government Relations Team Provides Legislative Update

The House and Senate both have passed another extension of the Higher Education Act giving the Conference Committee more time to work on the bill. As we have reported, we are working to secure our language that was included in the House version of the bill increasing fire safety in student housing at colleges and universities. Conferees will now have until May 31 to clear the bill. Both the House and Senate face a crowded agenda between now and the Memorial Day recess, so further extensions may be needed. For more information about this bill check it out here.
