The holiday season is upon us and we want to be the first to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
We hope you have a joyful and safe holiday.

As this year – our 59th year as an association – winds down, we will be sending you more information
about how you can get involved in the year-long celebration of our association’s 60th birthday.

Starting with the Leadership Summit in January, attendees will meet other leaders from around the country and have an opportunity to learn from one another.

Later, we hope to see many of you in Washington D.C. for our Day on Capitol Hill. There’s no better way to meet your elected officials and place before them important issues concerning the industry and the association. Read about this year's event.

In June, NBFAA will celebrate its 60th year as an association at the newly founded Electronic Security Expo (ESX) in Nashville. Jointly created with the Central Station Alarm Association, ESX is the only industry event owned, directed and sponsored by the industry-leading trade associations.

NBFAA will also be publishing our Tribute to a Legacy of Leadership. This book will highlight the association’s past and look at where we are today and where we are headed. If you know a little something about the association’s history and were there to witness it, please contact us at communications@alarm.org. Your personal experiences will help make this project a resounding success.

We also want to remind you of some important dates for the remainder of this year:

  • The deadline for submitting an application for the First Line of Defense Award has been extended to Dec. 7. If you have a great story about how an alarm system installed by your company saved lives, deterred property damage or aided in the apprehension of criminals, then we’d like to know about it. If you’re chosen as the grand prize winner your company will be honored during ESX.
  • It may be the holiday season, but NTS is still holding classes. If you’ve been putting off getting those last CEUs, or you simply just need a refresher, then what better time than now? A complete course listing and schedule can be found in the Professional Development section of the NBFAA Web site at www.alarm.org.

From the entire staff here in Irving, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. For those of you braving the traffic and malls the day after Thanksgiving, may your shopping be swift and safe.
