NBFAA Thanks Members and ADI for another Successful Workforce Development Program

We recently wrapped up the second Workforce Development Program and want to thank ADI for their support and all of those that participated in the program by purchasing the select products offered by our Participating Partners.

Attracting new individuals to the industry requires a well laid-out career path and a highly effective awareness campaign. Support from ADI and our Participating Partners have helped aid these initiatives by providing funds to support our efforts. Our special product sales in April and August were a success thanks to our Participating Partners.

When members bought any of our Participating Partners’ specially priced products, five percent was donated to NBFAA for the specific purpose of enhancing the workforce of the future. The initiative has generated revenue to help fund workforce development programs such as the NBFAA apprenticeship program.

On behalf of our members and the entire industry – we wish to thank ADI for their willingness to sponsor this program and provide the administrative and marketing tools to turn it into a reality.

Certification Offers Your Business an Edge

Competition in the alarm industry is fierce. To stay in front of your competitors, you need something a potential customer can feel good about when choosing your company.

Training and certifying your technicians shows that you care about your trade and, more importantly, care about doing it well. When it comes down to choosing between two equally competitive companies, the one most certified is the one most often selected.

NTS offers NBFAA members three certification opportunities for alarm technicians.

To become a Certified Alarm Technician (Level I), students must successfully complete the three-day Certified Alarm Technician course and pass the two-hour multiple choice examination.

To become a Certified Fire Alarm Technician, students must successfully complete the two-day Fire Alarm Installation Methods (FAIM) course and pass the two-hour multiple choice examination, and successfully complete the one day Life Safety Code course and pass the one-hour multiple choice examination.

To become a Certified Alarm Technician (Level II), students must hold the Level I certification, have successfully completed the FAIM course and passed the examination, and have successfully completed the two-day Advanced Burglar Alarm Technician course and passed the two-hour multiple choice examination.

For a complete list of training opportunities, course descriptions and dates available in your area visit NBFAA’s Web site at www.alarm.org.
