DAY ONE
This year’s Chapter Workshop will offer state leaders and members a range of topics that will help their individual businesses, better their state associations and positively impact the industry. Prepare to be engaged, entertained and informed.
The afternoon will kick off with a preview and demonstration of the new NBFAA Web site and the many new tools available both to chapter leaders and members.
Following that demonstration, Cathy Rempel, founder and CEO of The Summit Group, will speak about improving visibility; a topic that applies to both individual businesses and state associations.
The second half of the workshop will be devoted to Alarm Response Management issues. First, we will welcome Ron Walters, Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) director, for an explanation and discussion of the “Alarm Factor.” This is a fundamental concept that every alarm dealer should know about responsible alarm management. Join us as Walters shares his insight and ideas on this topic.
The last hour of the Workshop will be devoted to a panel discussion about Alarm Response Management Committees at the state level. Glen Mowrey (Chief Ret.), Law Enforcement Liaison from SIAC, will moderate the discussion of “best practices” with subject matter experts from the industry and law enforcement.
Panelists include:

The NBFAA Member Reception closes out the first day, so be prepared to mingle with the industry’s best while enjoying good food, cold drinks and great company. The reception will give members a chance to relax, network and enjoy a great view of New York City from the Sheraton on the Hudson.
DAY TWO
The 2007 NBFAA Leadership Awards Luncheon is a key event on the second day of the conference. During the luncheon NBFAA will recognize the 2007 NBFAA Leadership Award winners.
Later that evening, NBFAA’s premier event, the Heroes Scholarship Reception and Dinner, will kick off at the Hilton Millenium Hotel across from Ground Zero in New York City.
You’ll not want to miss this once in a lifetime event. Reserve your seat today.
DAY THREE
The final day of the conference will wrap up with the Festival of Lanterns, the Tri-Association Awards Dinner at the Lighthouse on Chelsea Pier 61. Come and show your appreciation to Stan Martin, executive director of the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) and George Fletcher, president of DMF Consulting, both of whom will be honored during the dinner.
Hosted jointly by the NBFAA, the Security Industry Association (SIA) and the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA), this year’s event will bring the delights and wonders of the Eastern world to the banks of the Hudson River.
Martin will be honored with the Triton Award, which was established in 2004 to recognize an individual who has contributed significantly to the advancement of the industry through the initiatives of NBFAA, SIA and CSAA.
Fletcher, a past SIA treasurer and industry group chair will be presented SIA’s highest honor – the George R. Lippert Memorial Award.
A portion of each ticket sale will be donated to Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE), a national, non-profit organization, created by students for students, that promotes the virtues of civility and respect by helping students of all ages learn how to care for other people.
As you can see, this year’s Fall Conference will be one to remember. If you haven’t registered you’ll want to do so today.

Honeywell recently announced two new product developments, the Total Connect suite of digital communications services and the 7845i_GSM, a unique new product combining Honeywell’s global system for mobile communications (GSM) alarm radio with Internet service.
Total Connect is a unique new offering that lets consumers utilize the Internet, personal digital assistants (PDA), cell phones, video cameras and more to stay connected to their homes and businesses. It is also an ideal way for dealers to increase recurring monthly revenue (RMR) while addressing the challenges of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and cell phone only residences and businesses.
Total Connect consists of a suite of basic and enhanced services that allow dealers to offer whatever service combination they choose. Basic services include short message service (SMS) and Web-based remote system control and e-mail notification of non- critical events. Once logged onto a secure Web site, consumers can control their security systems and perform other tasks via a virtual keypad using any Web browser on a computer-compatible PDA or Web-enabled cell phone.

Should the Internet become unavailable, the unit automatically communicates using the GSM network. This end-to-end communication platform enables dealers to expand services and increase the value of their accounts. Honeywell’s GSM alarm communications radios are designed to meet the ever-changing needs of the future, expand the dealer’s customer base and maintain and increase RMR.
