Association News Executive Perspective: NBFAA and ADLG Helping Hands, Helping Hearts By Merlin Guilbeau As we make contact with our members and our chapters in Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana – the desperation in their voices and their pleas for help ring one message loud and clear…their immediate needs are jobs and housing. Our fellow colleagues are homeless, their possessions are gone, their businesses and places of employment are severely damaged - and they are unsure where they will go from here. None of us can imagine how frightening the future must be for them. The NBFAA, with support from Alarm Debt Liquidation Group (ADLG), has set up an infrastructure to assist the affected companies with the task of temporarily placing their employees by connecting them with companies who can immediately offer temporary placement and/or housing. If you are in a position to put an individual(s) in the alarm industry to work and/or if you can offer an individual(s) a place to live — please register immediately at www.alarm.org or call toll free: 888-447-1689. Please understand that the owners of the affected businesses need to trust that their employees are being offered temporary placement and will be available to return as they rebuild. If you are not in a position to offer employment but you know someone who is – or you know someone who needs help—please ask them to contact us as well. This is your way — our way — to make a difference for these owners and their employees whose lives have been affected by this disaster. To date, we’ve had a total of 46 companies register and have available over 100 positions. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration and help in this unprecedented time of need. Editor’s Note : Log on to our Web site at www.alarm.org to see how you can help with the Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts. If you have questions, please contact the NBFAA toll free at 888-447-1689. What can NTS do for you?NTS offers a wide variety of education and training programs online or in a classroom. Just pick a course and start to reap the benefits of NTS.
