Clutch your wallets, hide your purses and lock your doors! Hosts of the Discovery Channel show, “It Takes a Thief” will present a Keynote Address following the second annual State of the Industry Breakfast at ISC East 2005.
The event will feature a moderator from Security Sales & Integration magazine and a Question and Answer segment with the television-show hosts and a panel of industry professionals.
The free breakfast will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 8 a.m. and pre-registration is required.

This year’s guest speaker for the NBFAA “Breakfast With…” is Mark Ingram, vice president of National Accounts for ADI, who will speak on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 7:30 a.m.
Ingram said, “I believe in the philosophy that supporting organizations such as NBFAA can increase a company’s competitive edge and improve a business.” Ingram’s presentation will on focus on commitment and strength in numbers.

Bosch Security Systems, Inc. Appoints New President
Associate Member Bosch Security Systems, a manufacturer of security systems and components, announced their new company president Shamus Hurley.
Hurley will assume the presidential position on Oct. 1, 2005, and replace Peter Ribinski, who has been president since 2001. In addition to his current duties, Hurley’s responsibilities include reporting to the Chairman of Bosch’s Security Business and the Robert Bosch North America Board.
In 2002, Hurley was Vice President of Sales for North America and, in 2003, promoted to Vice President of the Americas region.
Micro Key Software Outgrows Their Training Facility
For the third time in less than ten years a steady increase in clients has created a need for Micro Key Software, Inc., an associate member of NBFAA, to upgrade their training facilities.
The previous training center, which was used as a conference room, was converted into a full-time conference room. Micro Key’s executive staff started to brainstorm how to utilize the new facility when training was not taking place, and decided to offer the high-tech training center for use by local companies. The modern facility has a fully networked advanced computer system complete with wireless Internet access, digital projection and all the traditional trainer’s tools.
Trans-Alarm Announces Honors and Appointments
Member company Trans-Alarm, Inc, the electronic security division of Trans-American Security Services, Inc, announced new appointments and honors for three of their employees.
Judy Borchardt was appointed as Customer Relations manager, who will be responsible for overseeing installation scheduling, 24-hour service dispatch and the Company’s UL Listed alarm monitoring center.
David “JR” Dalby was awarded by the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) the title of Certified Protection Professional (CPP). The certification is based on education, experience and the completion of a written exam. It is considered the most advanced certification within the professional security field.
Brian Torney was awarded the Physical Security Professional (PSP) title by the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). The PSP coursework covers threat assessment, structural barriers, lock technology, electronic security and security lighting.
Trans-Alarm, Inc. is a division of Trans-American Security Services, Inc, which also operates Automated Entrance Products, Inc, the region’s provider of power operated door systems for retail, commercial, industrial and healthcare facilities.
