SIAC to Present Alarm Training Update at 2005 ADI Expos
The Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) will brief alarm company owners and managers at 15 ADI Expo training events to be held through the end of 2005.
SIAC representatives will describe programs designed to help security system end users and law enforcement professionals limit false alarm activations.
“Tom Polson of ADI is giving us a great opportunity to inform alarm companies about the importance of cooperation between alarm users, police executives and company officials, “ said SIAC Executive Director Stan Martin. “Security alarms play a critical role in public safety, and they work most effectively when everybody involved agrees to follow some common-sense guidelines.”
SIAC’s effective alarm management techniques have successfully reduced calls for service around the country. The protocols include equipment standards, ECV (enhanced call verification) programs that confirm the need for police dispatch via alarm owner cell phone, and expanded training and communication for alarm users and local police.
