The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) is soliciting public comment on two proposed standards the association is considering. The deadline to submit comments is Monday, Feb. 11, 2008.

NBFAA encourages members to make their voices heard. Please take a moment to review the proposed CSAA standards and submit your comments.


CSAA CS-CO-01
Carbon Monoxide Supervising Station Response Standard

This standard defines the response procedure for a supervising station to a Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector alarm transmitted to the supervising station. The standard applies to both residential and commercial installations.

CSAA CS-V-02
Video Verification Procedures for Burglar Alarms

This standard focuses on how to use video to verify alarm signals and to help visually identify the source of the alarm event. While it is a goal of this standard to help in reducing the number of false dispatches; it also is a goal to provide enhanced information when an alarm needs to be reported to authorities.

Comments must be received no later than Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 to be considered by the CSAA standards committee. Those wishing to comment must download a Form for Proposals on CSAA Standards Document and submit it to the CSAA before 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008. A separate form is required for each proposal.
