Answer 7 Quick Questions About the Name Change
Although the majority of members who voted were in favor of the name change for NBFAA, the final vote of the general membership was 13 votes short of the affirmative votes needed for a two-thirds majority.
 The general membership vote followed the Jan. 26, 2006, Board of Directors meeting at which the motion to recommend a name change to “Electronic Life Safety & Systems Association” was overwhelmingly approved.
Since the vote indicated a majority who voted were in favor of the change, NBFAA is now conducting a survey to determine what were the reasons for the ‘no’ votes and to provide feedback to the Board of Directors.
