Tell the World How Valuable Alarm Systems Can Be
Enter the 2007 First Line of Defense Award Program

Each and every day security companies across the country work with central stations and public safety agencies to save lives, avert property damage and prevent crimes. Even though these success stories may seem like everyday occurrences, they represent the positive contribution that our industry makes every day in the lives of ordinary citizens and the communities where they live.

Between now and Nov. 10, 2006, you can tell your success story and be considered for the 2007 National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA)/SDM Magazine First Line of Defense award.

“Making the United States safer and more secure for families and businesses is the most important function our members perform. Saving lives and deterring crime is what this industry is all about,” said NBFAA President George Gunning. “This award program is an important part of our Public Relations program and vital to getting the word out to consumers on the value of alarm systems. I encourage every member to enter. Even if your story isn’t chosen as the First Line of Defense winner, we intend to publish all of the top stories online so consumers will understand how valuable an alarm system can be.”

Each year the winning company and their customer are invited to attend an awards ceremony during the ISC West Expo in Las Vegas. Last year’s winner, American Alarm and Communications Inc. of Arlington, Mass., was congratulated by the former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge during the ceremony.

Created in 1999, First Line of Defense honors the teamwork among security-installing companies, central stations and emergency authorities that have demonstrated outstanding performance in deterring, detecting or preventing crime and/or loss through the effective use of, and response to, security and fire alarm systems.

2006 winner American Alarm and Communications Inc. is congratulated by former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge.
